One would think the CSFD Hockey team would play in a hockey game at the State Games?

Not so much. The hockey game was cancelled (grrrrrr), so instead four of us decided to play the golf tournament instead.

Corey Piper (plays golf regularly), Bo Hutchinson (plays golf occasionally), Steve Garcia (plays golf every now and then), and Grant Tinker (hasn’t played since he was five and thin) made up one of the CSFD hockey/golf teams.

We arrived at the golf rink early in the morning donning our hockey sweaters, hats, shorts, sticks, and an attitude. We were fulfilling the Happy Gilmore stereotype as “hockey players here to play golf”.

We sped off in carts, and played the game of our lives.

Corey managed to carry the rest of us through the course,

and kept us in the game. With the help of Grant, Bo, and

Steve, we managed to finish dead last, but we left the

course with a great experience, and about six dozen

golf balls,......locations unknown.
